Meet the Trainers & Instructors
Alex Leeper
Co-Manager | Personal Trainer | Class Instructor
Over the past few years, I have been a fitness manager, personal trainer, and group fitness instructor. I have a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, currently working towards my doctorate in physical therapy. Through my recent experience working with clients, my passion for fitness has grown exponentially. My goal is to challenge my clients to push themselves, give them valuable knowledge, and gain exercise experience. I really enjoy helping athletes improve sports performance, clients gain body confidence and reach their health & fitness goals.
Lori Hatton – Yoga
I have been teaching yoga for over 10 years. I am certified in chair and 200 YTT. The classes are adjusted for every level of student. Working in health care for over 45 years, 20 years in pain management. I focus on the body, mind, and staying healthy! Balance and flexibility are so important!
Rebecca Kennedy, LMT
I am a licensed massage therapist by the Ohio State Medical Board, and have been practicing massage therapy since graduating from Stark State College in 2007. My work experience includes providing therapeutic massage at Massage Envy, and Love Beautiful Skin, and Majestic Shears. I love to see my clients find relief from their chronic stress and overworked muscles.
Christine Speda – Zumba
I was introduced to Zumba while working at Curves. I loved the music and rhythms so much I got certified and have been teaching ever since. My classes are tailored to my students, so I appreciate their input.
Joseph Risden
Manager | Personal Trainer | Class Instructor
I am a graduate of the University of Mount Union with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. I have been a fitness manager, wellness instructor, personal trainer and class instructor since I graduated in 2020. I have a Performance Enhancement Specialist certification through NASM. I have experience working with a wide range of clients and abilities. My favorite part about being in the fitness field is helping people improve their health and watch them do things they never thought they would be able to.
Madeline Davis – Spin
Im a cycle instructor at Ohio University and I’m so pumped to be a new cycle instructor for FitZone this summer! I’m 21, in nursing school, and obsessed with all things movement + music.I grew up dancing for 13 years, so you can definitely expect good vibes and even better playlists in my classes. I really fell in love with cycling during a tough time in my life—it became my safe space, my therapy, and where I found my strength again. Can’t wait to ride with you and help you feel strong, confident, and totally unstoppable!
Kirsten Werderman – Spin
Kirsten is a passionate group fitness and spin instructor who has been in the gym for over 15 years but recently began leading classes. She specializes in high energy spin classes and strength-based group workouts that are challenging and fun. With a background in biochemistry, she blends expert knowledge with dynamic coaching to create an inclusive environment. Kirsten believes in the power of movement to find the exercise that works best for you.
